About Baraza

Baraza is an all-inclusive beach resort on Bwejuu Beach, with 30 private-pool villas and architecture drawing on Zanzibar’s Swahili, Arabic and Indian heritage.

Its appeal is the combination of private villa space and shared resort facilities: couples can choose one-bedroom accommodation, while two-bedroom villas offer more room for families. The east-coast beach changes with the tides, so the private plunge pools, main pool and wider facilities are meaningful parts of the stay.

Baraza has 30 villas: 14 one-bedroom villas, 15 two-bedroom villas and one Royal Beach Two-Bedroom Villa. Every villa has a private plunge pool, terrace and living area. One-bedroom villas measure 148 square metres; the standard two-bedroom categories are 193 square metres, with a principal bedroom and a second twin bedroom. The 254-square-metre Royal Beach Villa has two principal bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Ocean-front and garden settings differ, so the category matters as much as the bedroom count.

Activities

Alongside the main swimming pool and beach, Baraza has a tennis court, fitness centre and Frangipani Spa with an adults-only lap pool. The water-sports and dive centres provide options beyond the resort, with diving arranged around qualifications and conditions. Stone Town, spice farms and Jozani Forest can be explored on separately arranged excursions. Tides affect sea-swimming depth, while treatments, lessons and outings may carry additional charges.

Does Baraza have a tennis court?

Yes. The resort has a tennis court and fitness centre, as well as its pools and spa. We can check equipment and lesson arrangements if tennis is a priority.

Can we swim in the sea all day?

The east coast is tidal, so sea depth and access change through the day. The main pool and each villa’s plunge pool provide alternatives.

Does Baraza suit families?

Yes. Two-bedroom categories provide a principal bedroom and a separate second bedroom. We match the actual layout to your family; the spa lap pool is adults-only.

Can Baraza follow a Serengeti safari?
