The park is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with more than 400 recorded species, including flocks of flamingos when lake conditions allow. Planning your stay

How Lake Manyara Tree Lodge fits your journey.

Two or three nights lets the forest setting and park wildlife become part of the holiday rather than a brief road stop. Add Ngorongoro and a Serengeti stay for a varied northern route. We consider the drive to the lodge alongside the time available in the park.

The right fit

Would Lake Manyara Tree Lodge suit you?

Who it suits

Travellers who enjoy forest scenery and unusual raised accommodation. It offers a different atmosphere from open-plains Serengeti camps and crater-rim lodges.

Things to consider

The suites are elevated, and access should be discussed if stairs or paths are difficult. Lake Manyara wildlife varies; its reputation for particular sightings is not a guarantee. The forest setting is the attraction even when animals remain elusive.

Useful to know

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge FAQs.

Is Tree Lodge inside Lake Manyara National Park?

Yes. The stilted suites are in forest within the park, creating a different stay from accommodation around its entrance or in nearby Karatu.

Are these treehouses for children?

They are substantial raised safari suites rather than simple playground-style treehouses. We confirm family accommodation and access for the ages in your party.

Will we definitely see tree-climbing lions?

No. The park is associated with them, but wildlife behaviour and sightings cannot be promised. We plan for the forest, birdlife and broader park experience.

Is one night enough?

It may be possible, but two or three nights better balances the lodge journey, park outings and time in the forest setting.
