Our take

About Singita Mara River

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is a stunning luxury tented camp located on a dramatic bend in the Mara River within the Lamai triangle, providing unsurpassed viewing of the wildebeest river crossings during their annual migration.

Introducing Singita Mara River Tented Camp, an exceptional eco-lodge that operates entirely off the grid and embraces a new generation of sustainable practices. Constructed primarily from natural and recycled materials, this camp is located in one of the Serengeti's most vibrant wildlife regions, offering unparalleled game viewing opportunities throughout the year, particularly during the migration.

The sophisticated safari-style tents incorporate a blend of canvas, wood, and other sustainable elements. Food & drink

Dining

Meals at Singita Mara River are planned around the safari day, with early breakfasts, relaxed lunches and dinners in camp or outdoors when conditions allow. Dietary requirements can be arranged before travel.

What to do

Activities

Game drives explore the Lamai Triangle and northern Serengeti, with guided walking arranged when conditions and permissions allow. The camp’s shared plunge pool and river-facing spaces provide time to rest between outings. Migration herds and crossings depend on the season and animals’ movements. This national-park camp should not be confused with Singita’s private Grumeti reserve lodges or their activity programme.

Planning your stay

How Singita Mara River fits your journey.

Three or four nights gives the northern river setting time to deliver a varied safari. A Grumeti reserve stay adds a different landscape and accommodation context on a longer trip. We plan for both resident wildlife and seasonal herds rather than making every outing depend on a crossing.

The right fit

Would Singita Mara River suit you?

Who it suits

Couples and travellers who want a small, design-led canvas camp in northern river country. It is a useful comparison for people who favour intimacy over the facilities of a substantial lodge.

Things to consider

This is Singita’s Lamai-region camp, not one of its Grumeti lodges. Seasonal wildlife, tent configuration and travel connections need checking for your dates. River frontage does not guarantee a crossing outside your room.

Useful to know

Singita Mara River FAQs.

How large is Singita Mara River?

The camp has six tented suites. Its small footprint creates a different atmosphere from Singita’s more substantial Grumeti lodges.

Where is Singita Mara River?

It is in the Lamai Triangle in northern Serengeti, overlooking a Mara River bend. It is geographically distinct from Singita’s Grumeti Reserve properties.

Can river crossings be guaranteed?

No. The location provides a northern river-country base, but the timing and position of wild herds and crossings cannot be promised.

What would you pair with the camp?

A Grumeti stay can add a contrasting western reserve landscape. Ngorongoro or Zanzibar are other possibilities, with the choice guided by trip length and available flights.
