About Wayo Manyara Green Camp

Wayo Manyara Green Camp is an intimate eco-luxury safari camp located deep within Tanzania’s Lake Manyara National Park, offering an authentic wilderness experience surrounded by forest, waterfalls and abundant wildlife. Designed for travellers seeking immersive adventure, the camp combines classic East African safari style with exceptional guiding.

Wayo Manyara Green Camp is a low-impact seasonal safari camp set beside the Endabash River beneath the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment in northern Tanzania. The camp is built using environmentally conscious principles, including solar power and locally sourced materials, while maintaining a relaxed and authentic safari atmosphere. Hidden amongst giant fig trees and dense forest, the camp offers a peaceful retreat within Lake Manyara National Park, making it an ideal base for travellers exploring Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.

What to do

Activities

Game drives and guided walks explore the park’s forest, lake-edge habitats and surrounding landscape. Night drives and canoe outings can add variety when permissions and water conditions allow. Canoeing should not be treated as available regardless of lake level. Walking arrangements are matched to fitness and minimum-age requirements, with a simpler camp atmosphere between outings.

Planning your stay

How Wayo Manyara Green Camp fits your journey.

Two or three nights creates time for the park rather than only a quick stop on the northern circuit. Add Ngorongoro and a Serengeti camp for contrasting habitats. We check access and activities for the actual Green Camp arrangement before designing the daily schedule.

The right fit

Would Wayo Manyara Green Camp suit you?

Who it suits

Travellers who want to stay under canvas within Manyara’s forest-and-lake environment. It merits comparison when a small-camp atmosphere appeals more than a substantial forest lodge.

Things to consider

This is a bush-camp stay, not a conventional hotel. Current bathroom, power and activity arrangements should be confirmed. The park’s changing lake and wildlife conditions mean no particular sighting can be guaranteed.

Useful to know

Wayo Manyara Green Camp FAQs.

Is Wayo Manyara Green Camp inside the park?

Yes. It is a canvas safari base within Lake Manyara National Park, rather than a hotel around the entrance.

How does it differ from Tree Lodge?

Green Camp centres on the canvas bush-camp experience; Tree Lodge offers substantial stilted forest suites. We compare the actual comforts and access for your preferences.

Can we plan particular activities in advance?

Yes, but availability depends on guiding, permissions, ages and conditions. We establish the activities you want before confirming the camp arrangement.

Should we rush Manyara between other parks?

Not if the stay itself appeals to you. Allowing a proper park stay can be more rewarding than adding it as another brief stop in an overloaded circuit.
