Our take

About Singita Sabora

Singita Sabora Tented Camp is a beautifully reimagined luxury safari camp set within Tanzania’s private Grumeti Reserve, offering an intimate, romantic take on classic East African exploration. Blending vintage safari elegance with contemporary design and exceptional guiding, it delivers immersive wildlife experiences alongside refined comfort in one of the Serengeti ecosystem’s most exclusive regions.

Singita Sabora Tented Camp captures the spirit of vintage safari while delivering a deeply luxurious and thoughtfully modern stay. Located in the private 350,000-acre Grumeti Reserve, the camp offers front-row access to one of East Africa’s most remarkable wildlife regions, including the Great Migration. Its elegant canvas suites echo the golden age of exploration but are paired with sophisticated interiors, generous living spaces and seamless indoor-outdoor design. With Singita’s renowned hospitality, exceptional cuisine and expert guiding, Sabora provides a refined yet authentic safari experience rooted in conservation and connection to the land.

01

Accommodation

Rooms

Sabora has nine tented suites, each with a private pantry, dining space, fitness area and meditation deck. The ground-level layout gives a close connection to the plains, while the en-suite bathroom and indoor living space provide comfort between drives. The swimming pool is in the shared main area; the suites should not be described as private-pool accommodation.

02

Food & drink

Dining

Dining at Sabora is relaxed yet refined, with menus inspired by seasonal produce and global influences, often served al fresco beneath the vast African sky. Shared meals, fireside gatherings and thoughtfully curated wine selections are central to the camp’s convivial atmosphere. Wellness experiences, guided nature walks and quiet moments overlooking the plains complement the culinary journey.

03

What to do

Activities

Game drives and guided walks explore the Grumeti landscape, with the programme planned around conditions and interests. At camp, the shared swimming pool, suite fitness space and wellness arrangements offer quieter time. Tennis is available at Sasakwa rather than a court within Sabora. Additional experiences and transfers to other facilities should be confirmed as part of the plan.

Planning your stay

How Singita Sabora fits your journey.

Three or four nights allows time to enjoy the tented plains setting between safari outings. Pair with a northern Serengeti camp if seasonal wildlife variety justifies a longer route. Another Grumeti lodge offers a change in accommodation style, but staying longer at Sabora can be preferable to moving unnecessarily.

The right fit

Would Singita Sabora suit you?

Who it suits

Couples and travellers who want substantial tented-suite comfort while remaining close to the plains. It merits consideration when the feel of sleeping under canvas is part of the holiday.

Things to consider

Sabora is a fixed camp in the private Grumeti Reserve, not a mobile migration camp. A polished tented suite is also a different experience from a traditional small bush tent. Decide which version of safari appeals to you.

Useful to know

Singita Sabora FAQs.

Is Sabora a mobile camp?

No. Singita Sabora is a permanent tented camp in Grumeti. Its canvas accommodation does not mean it relocates with the herds.

How many suites does Sabora have?

There are nine tented suites. They offer substantial accommodation within a relatively small camp rather than a large hotel-style room inventory.

How does Sabora differ from Faru Faru?

Sabora places the tented experience on the plains at the centre of the stay; Faru Faru has a contemporary river-lodge setting. The safari region overlaps, so accommodation style matters in the comparison.

Should we add another Grumeti lodge?

Only if changing the setting and room style is valuable to you and there are enough nights. More time with one guiding team can be more rewarding than an extra move.
